Vinyl Rocks!!

Last month someone handed some vinyl records into a British Heart Foundation charity shop, one of those records turned out to a very rare early Beatles demo record. Luckily someone in the shop realized what they had their hands on and did some checking. The record was put on eBay for auction and reached the giddy heights of £9,600, (although the Chairman of the charity was expecting twice that amount)

Vinyl has had a resurgence over the last few years, this could be due to the Millennials discovering vinyl and embracing it, or maybe it's the older generation reliving their youth, or

it could be that 35 years ago everybody threw their vinyl records in the local tip after replacing all their vinyl with the 'unbreakable, last a lifetime, miracle' that was the CD.

Either way vinyl is definitely back, and it's appearing more and more at Antique & Vintage Fairs, Auctions and Antique Markets.

Are vinyl records now a viable and acceptable part of the Antiques world?

Being a dealer of vinyl, I'm biased and will say 'Yes'

What are your thoughts on this?

What are your opinions, if any on vinyl.

Compared to the plethora of repro' upscaled 'antiques' I'd say vinyl is definitely an acceptable addition to the Fairs and Markets.
